| Summary: Outcomes of ankle stability and socioeconomic impact were compared for three different treatment methods for acute ankle sprain. Mobilization with the Aircast Ankle Brace was "assessed as the most cost-effective in terms of diagnosis and therapy plus material costs" when compared to immobilization. When combined with the results of objective and subjective stability measures, the authors concluded, "early functional conservative therapy has to be designated as the therapy of choice both from a medical and a socioeconomic point of view." |
