Source:
Alves JW, Alday RV, Ketcham DL, et al: Journal of Orthopedic Sport Physical Therapy 15(1): 10-18, 1992
Summary:
A comparison of four brands of ankle braces was performed to assess the effects on passive ankle inversion-eversion before and after exercise, as well as to evaluate the subjects' perception of support and comfort with these devices. "The support provided by the two semirigid orthoses [including the Aircast Sport-Stirrup®] was significantly greater than the support provided by the neoprene and lace-on braces." Of these two semirigid braces, "the Sport-Stirrup was ranked much more comfortable than the [other brace] by the subjects in this study."
