| Summary: Purpose: To review the use of IPC devices (ArterialFlow) for non-healing wounds in patients with limb ischemia Results: ArterialFlow produced complete wound healing and limb preservation in the following: • 40% of patients with TcPO2 levels below 20mmhg • 48% of patients with osteomyelitis or active wound infection • 46% of patients with insulin dependent diabetes • 28% of patients who had previous amputations Patients with limb ischemia and non-healing wounds at high risk of amputation can achieve complete wound healing and limb preservation by using an intermittent pneumatic compression device (ArterialFlow System). |
